Message from Ahlam Janahi
President
Bahrain Businesswomen Society
“Coming together by staying apart” is the new norm. As we look to the future we all understand
we are living in unprecedented times with the Coronavirus Covid-19, so staying connected is more
important today than it has ever been. Globally political, financial and social institutions are facing
several challenges.
Everything we stand for as a human race is being challenged. It brings me back to the definition of
civilization. A civilization is generally an advanced stage of organization. That means law, culture,
a regular way of getting food and protecting the people. All the above have come under threat,
we have seen strong leadership and the best of humanity coming to the fore, and bringing us back
to our key priority – our people. The current situation provides an opportunity for our community
to demonstrate agility in terms of how we adapt to working individually and collectively during a
period of uncertainty.
As we celebrate this year our 20th anniversary, we are reinventing new ways in which we can
support each other during this pandemic. As a society, one of
our strengths is the opportunity for our community of more than
100 members to connect and to network during our events and
workshops. Our 80+ delivered society activities, and how we
support you over the coming months is going to look different.
During the past few months, we have embraced the concept
of virtual learning and networking through our partners with
a series of webinars. This channel of delivery will be ramped
up considerably over the next period of time to support all our
members, and to ensure that you continue to have access to high
quality content and events. We thank our expert members who
have been providing virtual training and webinars for free to our
existing members.
As members of #teambahrain, we are participating in the
various Covid-19 national campaigns: #Together_for_Bahrain_
Safety (Mutkatfeen) and Feena Khair
Hence as we reinvent our daily lives, we encourage you to
continue to renew your membership during this time to ensure
we all keep connected.
Keeping connected to a support community is more important
than ever. Enjoy this issue and please remember to share it
with your friends and colleagues whom you think will enjoy it
too.
Please stay safe, stay well, stay connected and stay at home!
