Message from the President
Dear Members,
The work continues, the achievement continues, the passion increases and the determination rises with each passing day,
and here we are in the process of issuing our latest news updates in issue no. 6 of society’s electronic newsletter.
On this occasion, I extend my sincerest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect
him. And to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, may God protect him, the Crown Prince, the Prime
Minister, and Her Royal Highness. Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King of the Kingdom
of Bahrain, President of the Supreme Council for Women, May God protect her. We extend our sincere thanks and
appreciation to the Honorary President of the Society, Her Highness Sheikha Thajba bint Salman Al Khalifa, may God
protect her.
The new issue of the electronic bulletin documents the Society’s work over the past months, especially in light of the return
of life in the Kingdom post-covid, and the achievements of Bahraini women in Achievements that contributed to continuing
the comprehensive sustainable development process in all sectors of the state, as it was able to confirm its ability to
assume responsibility and participate in the development and progress of our dear kingdom at all levels, especially at
the economic level.
The Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society affirmed its great support for the decisions to enhance the representation of Bahraini
women on corporate boards, and said that supporting the presence of women on the various boards of directors has
been a goal of the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society since its inception 23 years ago. Support this trend and endorse
ways to implement it, which are in line with the directives of the wise leadership. The society explained that these
amendments and provisions would encourage more Bahraini women to play a greater role on corporate boards, and
enhance gender balance on those boards, within the framework of supporting the efforts of the Supreme Council for
Women and the directions of the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women
BBS also commends the decision to cancel the Flexi Permit, a decision that will have great impact for the local market,
and indeed it had a positive impact, on the entire commercial street, with the inequality that the application of this visa
entailed between its owners and business owners. Obligated to pay many fees.
In terms of internal work, the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society continued its distinguished activity and achieved many
achievements that contribute to the development and strengthening of economic and social relations between
businesswomen in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the strengthening of the role of Bahraini women and their contribution in
all commercial and economic activities. And investment and development in the Kingdom, and activating the role of
businesswomen and urging them to participate in the boards of directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, banks, investment and public companies.
We are determined to continue implementing a work agenda that includes many events and activities that will help the
association’s members, including pioneers and businesswomen, as well as creators, innovators and exporters in Bahrain,
to develop their businesses and increase their contribution to the national economy. . Raising export rates abroad and
opening new regional and international markets to distinguished Bahraini products
In conclusion... BBS Board and Members express their utmost optimism about the recent decisions issued by the wise
leadership and the esteemed government over the past weeks and their rapid impact on the commercial street and the
investment reality in Bahrain... and expresses its sincere wishes for Bahrain's continued progress, growth and prosperity.
