Message from the President
Dear Respected Members,
On behalf of the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society, I would like to extend our best wishes to you all on the holy month of Ramadan
with the issuance of the BBS fifth E-Newsletter. On this occasion, I extend my highest thanks and congratulations to His Majesty
King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, HRH
Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW),
for the unlimited support provided by the wise leadership of the Society since its inception more than 21 years ago until this
moment.
We are determined to continue implementing a work agenda that includes many events and activities that will help the Society’s
members, including pioneers and businesswomen, as well as creators, innovators and exporters in Bahrain, to develop their
businesses and increase their contribution to the national economy. . Raising export rates abroad and opening new regional and
international markets to distinguished Bahraini products.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, corresponding to the eighth of this March, I would like to commend the
achievements of Bahraini women that contributed to the continuation of the comprehensive sustainable development process in
all sectors of the country, as they were able to confirm their ability to assume responsibility.
Participation in the development and progress of our dear kingdom at all levels, especially at the economic level. Bahraini women
and businesswomen, in particular, have gained a huge boost since the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women in 2001,
and its distinguished contributions to empowering and advancing women, appreciating the council’s role in partnership with
government agencies and the legislative authority in ensuring women’s rights and integrating its needs in the development plans
and the government's work program, as well as supporting it in the economic sector and motivating it to continue and succeed.
On this occasion, I extend my sincere congratulations to the businesswomen winners of the recent Bahrain Chamber of Commerce
and Industry elections that took place in March 2022, and to all the winners. Efficiency and capabilities in the previous sessions.
We also wish good luck to Bahraini women in the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for the end of this year in order to
achieve the principles of gender equality and justice.
It is worth noting here that the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society has made many achievements throughout its history that
contributed to developing and strengthening economic and social relations between businesswomen in the Kingdom of Bahrain
and enhancing the role of Bahraini women and their contribution in all commercial and economic activities. investment and
development in the Kingdom, activating the role of businesswomen and urging them to participate in the boards of directors of
the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, banks, investment and public companies.
We are very proud to be business partners alongside men, successful investors, officials and leaders of the highest degree of
efficiency. Today, women have achieved the highest positions in society as Speaker of Parliament, Minister, Ambassador, and
Member of Parliament. In the Shura Council, and many other high positions.
BBS played an effective role in qualifying a large number of female entrepreneurs and businesswomen to assume vital and
effective positions in the Kingdom, and many women who assumed leadership and senior executive positions in many locations
in the Kingdom emerged from it.
In conclusion, I hope that thanks to your good efforts, the Society will continue to perform its mission at the same level and high
performance in serving the country, the local economy, and its members.
