Dr. Siham A. Al Suwaigh is a Bahraini professor of Educational Psychology and a Certified Play Therapist. She received her B.S. from Oregon State University, her M.A. from Northwestern University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. Dr. Siham began her career in 1985 as an assistant professor at King Saud University, College of Education, and was promoted to a full professor in 2004. In addition to her teaching and supervision of graduate students, she has served in a variety of administrative positions such as the Head of the Psychology Department and Director of the Research Centre at the women's section of KSU. She has also served as an educational consultant at AGFUND. Specializing in childhood studies, child guidance and Play Therapy, she has published over 26 research papers, 6books as author or co-author in addition to book translations and conference presentations. As a certified Play Therapist and trainer, Dr. Siham has delivered an array of workshops in, parenting, teacher training, and Play Therapy in addition to presenting over 100 public speeches and TV appearances in the Gulf region. She has also received several awards for her professional achievements as well as her community services. Nuha Hamdan opened her first Branch in 2001, importing and selling Arabic Sweets such as all kinds of Baklawas and mamouls. The business was very successful and in 2006 she opened her second Branch and started producing sweets locally by importing raw material from Jordan and added a variety of other Middle Eastern sweets to the menu.
Ultimately, she started catering to hotels, especially during Ramadan. Due to the business’s success and the business started evolving and decided to producing all kind of Baklawa and Maamoul locally From A To Z and, import a minimal amount of raw material and purchase the rest from the local market.
Two years ago she changed the name of her Business and Branded her sweets as BALADNA SWEETS. She produced a variety of sweets from Halawet El Jiben to Kenafeh, Balurieh, Barazek, and Dawleeb el Hawah and all kind of Mammoul for Eid and many more.

When she first launched her collection Deemz Jewelry in 2002, she re-interpreted iconic symbols and images that provided hope and solace throughout history. Her first pieces were a mix of modern iterations and found vintage pieces but as the desire for her collection grew, she began reworking all of her pieces into a theme that drew on empowerment, strength, and faith in oneself and promises for a better reality. She balances her eye for what’s fine and feminine with a rocker chic vibe in her ability to be creative for symbolic jewelry that connects women to their emotions, grace, strength and sense of humor.
