The Social Committee is the dynamo of the society. Its' mission is to articulate the value and objectives of the society in addition of being the financial pillar, the mainstream income for financial support. It plans fun related activities, themed events and appealing events allowing members to enjoy and interact together. To collaborate with the Board to identify events that could meet member needs, and develop a marketing plan to advertise events.

The Treasurer has a watchdog role over all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Management Committee to safeguard the organization's finances. It is important to note that although the Treasurer ensures that these responsibilities are met, much of the work may be delegated to a finance sub-committee and paid staff or volunteers. In summary, the Treasurer is responsible for:

Sameera Al Kooheji is the founder/ President/Executive Director of Naseem International School which envisions to inspire lifelong learners and global citizens. She is the first woman to have established an international school in Bahrain and leads the only fully IB accredited school in Bahrain offering the four IB Programmes - PYP, MYP, DP and CP.
Sameera is an active member and recently elected Vice Board Secretary - Head of Training and Technology Committee in Bahrain Businesswomen's Society.

Follow up & Coordination Committee: To advise and to coordinate BBS's activities related to government and policy. It is a steering committee. Its main objectives are to support and to assist Bahrain's policy and regulatory framework conditions for its' members, and to promote fair competition within Bahrain's various markets. In pursuing these aims, the committee would meet with members of the local government, parliament, and administration.

The Advisory and Public Relation Committee helps BBS Board Members with the quality and independence of thinking and, draw on the expert advice of both the sector advisory group and the local economy.

Members of the committee serve in an advisory capacity and have no decision-making responsibilities.

The Cultural Committee works for interpersonal learning of various arts and creative skills by conducting related events, workshops and awareness activities. It organizes various celebrations on festivals (e.g. International Women Day, Breast Cancer Awareness, Diwali, Christmas, etc.) so that BBS gets a chance to know and experience the diverse cultures across the nation.

Esmahan Hassan Bokhowa

Head of the Economic Committee

Esmahan Bokhowa is high profile a visionary female entrepreneur who is recognized as a leader in both retail mall management and her community. Esmahan has over 25 years of management experience. Started out as an accounting trainee and rose through the ranks to become Share Holder and Finance Director in the Bokhowa Group, the family-owned conglomerate with subsidiaries in construction, trading, real estate and retail.
In her parallel role as general manager at Saar Mall, Mrs. Bokhowa has successfully established the Mall at the heart of the Saar neighborhood by actively engaging with the community through an expanding programme of promotions, charity and cultural events.
Esmahan has an MBA from Torrens University in Australia, is an honorary member of the Entrepreneur Organization (EO), sits on Tamkeen Advisory Board for the retail, construction and services sectors and others, member of Middle East Council of Shopping Centers & Retailers (MECS+R), also member of Bahrain Businesswomen Society. She has been listed as one of Bahrain's Most Influential Women in Gulf Magazine for the past three years.
